European Kratom Alliance Announces Partnership with Indonesian Kratom Associations

Strategic collaboration aims to ensure quality, safety, and sustainability in the global kratom market amid significant regulatory changes.

The European Kratom Alliance (EKA) is pleased to announce a partnership with ASSOSIASI PETANI PURIK INDONESIA and Asosiasi Mitragyna Nusantara, two leading kratom associations in Indonesia. This groundbreaking collaboration marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing consumers with the highest quality and safest kratom products while fostering a responsible and sustainable industry.

Responding to a Dynamic Market and Regulatory Landscape

This partnership has been forged in response to the ever-changing kratom landscape, particularly in light of impending regulatory changes in Indonesia. A new law regulating the export and cultivation of kratom in Indonesia is set to take effect later this month, which is expected to drastically alter the kratom market in Europe and the USA.

By joining forces, we aim to navigate these changes effectively, securing access and regulating the market on both sides of the supply chain, from Indonesia to Europe. Our goal is to create a more stable, transparent, and responsible international kratom market in this new regulatory environment.

Key Focus Areas

Our collaboration will focus on three critical areas:

  1. Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Standards: Implementing robust ESG practices to ensure sustainable and ethical kratom production and distribution.
  2. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Developing and adhering to stringent GMP standards to guarantee product quality and safety.
  3. Market Stability: Working together to build a stable international kratom market that benefits producers, distributors, and consumers alike, while complying with new regulatory requirements.

Advancing ESG in the Kratom Industry

As part of our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, the European Kratom Alliance is proud to announce an upcoming visit to Indonesia later this year. This visit will mark the official launch of our comprehensive ESG program tailored specifically for the kratom industry.

“Our ESG initiative goes beyond mere compliance,” explained Jakub Zientala, Director of Governmental Affairs at the European Kratom Alliance. “We’re aiming to set a new global standard for responsible kratom production and distribution. This program will address crucial aspects such as sustainable farming practices, fair labor conditions, and transparent governance structures throughout the supply chain.”

The ESG program will include:

  • Environmental stewardship: Promoting sustainable cultivation methods and biodiversity conservation
  • Social responsibility: Ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions for kratom farmers and workers
  • Governance: Implementing transparent reporting mechanisms and ethical business practices

Prioritizing Legal Compliance

In an industry facing evolving regulations, legal compliance is paramount. Our partnership places a strong emphasis on adhering to all applicable laws and regulations, both in Indonesia and in the markets we serve.

“As the regulatory landscape shifts, our commitment to legal compliance remains unwavering,” Zientala stated. “We’re working closely with our Indonesian partners to ensure that all kratom exported to Europe meets not only the highest quality standards but also fully complies with the new Indonesian regulations and European import requirements.”

This focus on compliance extends to all aspects of our operations, from cultivation and harvesting to processing, packaging, and distribution. By setting this example, we aim to elevate the entire kratom industry, promoting responsible practices that protect consumers and ensure the long-term viability of the market.

A Commitment to Excellence

“This partnership represents a pivotal moment in the kratom industry,” Zientala continued. “By combining our expertise and resources, we are setting new benchmarks for quality, safety, and sustainability in the global kratom market. Moreover, this collaboration positions us to effectively adapt to the forthcoming regulatory changes in Indonesia, ensuring continued access to high-quality kratom for European consumers.”

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, this partnership will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the kratom industry. We are committed to ongoing innovation, research, and development to meet the evolving needs of consumers and regulatory bodies alike. Our immediate focus will be on understanding and adapting to the new Indonesian regulations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a steady supply of high-quality kratom to the European market.
