Dear Kratom Community,

We are at a critical juncture regarding the future of Kratom in Europe. Recent developments have put our community at risk, and we need your immediate support and action.

Recent Developments

We regret to inform you that the Belgian Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAGG) has decided to ban kratom. While surprising, this sudden decision has been part of their agenda for the past year. Unfortunately, our focus on the Czech Republic market caused us to miss the warning signs.

Now, the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) is considering a similar ban. This potential decision could have far-reaching consequences across the European Union.

Why This Is Critical

  1. Public Health: An estimated 1.5 million people in Germany alone rely on Kratom to manage their daily lives. A ban could lead many to seek less safe alternatives.
  2. Scientific Research: Prohibiting Kratom could hinder ongoing research into its potential as a safer alternative to opioids.
  3. Personal Freedom: This decision touches on our right to make informed choices about our health and well-being.
  4. European Precedent: Germany’s decision, as the largest economy in Europe, will significantly influence policy across the EU. Losing the German market would be a severe threat to kratom usage in Europe.

The Bigger Picture

For over a century, natural health alternatives have been increasingly restricted, often under the guise of consumer protection. In contrast, the United States passed the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) in 1994, which protects access to many natural health products. This was achieved through informed civic engagement – the same approach we are calling for now.

Your Voice Matters

Decision-makers need to hear from people like you. Your experiences and insights can help ensure that all decisions about Kratom are based on a comprehensive understanding of its impacts on users and society.

While there is no immediate deadline, it’s crucial that we make our voices heard now, while decisions are still pending. By acting quickly, we can contribute to a more informed, balanced approach to regulating Kratom in Germany and potentially across Europe.

Together, we can protect the right to make informed decisions about our health and maintain access to Kratom and other natural alternatives.

Thank you for your continued support. United, we can work towards a future where kratom remains accessible to those who need it.

Act now. Your support could make all the difference.
